Carnival Details

• Time: Friday, October 25th, from 3-6pm

• Location: UP Elementary soccer fields, sport court, and gym (enter on Thackery St at soccer field entrance).

• Tickets: Activities and concessions exclusively accept tickets called “Paws.” Paws are purchased in a set of 10, in the form of tickets, for $10. Most activities and concessions cost between 2-8 Paws each. . Paws may be purchased online here through October 18th. Between October 21-24, they may be purchased before school near the Lollipop Pull or during Carnival at the ticket sales booth using cash, check, or credit card. Paws purchased online and will be delivered to the student’s classroom the week of Carnival.

• Sponsorships: As in years past, families and companies may use this website to purchase Sponsorships toward their favorite Carnival activities at the $2,500, $750, $500, and $250 levels. Benefits for both families and companies are listed here. The last day to purchase Sponsorships online is Friday, October 18. • “Dunk Mrs. Banuelos” Class Competition: New! Contribute money to your child’s classroom competition! For the class that raises the most, each student will receive a 30 minute early entry to the Carnival (including a special popsicle party) AND a chance to plunge our beloved principal into the dunk tank while the school cheers you on! As an added bonus, the teacher of the winning class will receive a gift basket that includes a gift card to St. Bernard’s and other fun items. Family and corporate sponsorships do not count toward the Class Competition.

• King & Queen of Carnival: New! One lucky 4th Grade boy and one lucky 4th grade girl will be chosen by raffle to be the 2024 King and Queen of Carnival! Raffle Tickets are $25/ticket. Buy as many raffle tickets as you want to increase your chances to win this incredible prize! The “King and Queen of Carnival” will get to enjoy an exciting in-school reveal and celebration of the newly crowned King and Queen, royal accessories so everyone at UP will recognize and celebrate you, skip the line at all activities (activities will still need to be purchased with Paws), put anyone into or out of jail, a personal royal high school escort during Carnival, 30 minutes early entry to Carnival (including a popsicle party!), and your picture in the yearbook on the Carnival page. Buy a raffle ticket for your favorite 4th grade child, niece or nephew, neighbor, Reading Buddy, or friend!

• Lollipop Pull: In the afternoons during the week of Carnival (October 21-24), students are invited to participate in the popular Lollipop Pull. At school pickup, between 3:15-3:30pm, outside the Amherst Entrance, parent volunteers will be leading a game called “Lollipop Pull.” Bring dollar bills each afternoon to play for a chance to win a lollipop or other special treat!

• Volunteers: Carnival activities run almost entirely on the volunteering of time by our generous community! Each activity at Carnival requires the assistance of at least one volunteer for either a 2:15-3:30, 3:30-4:45, or a 4:45-6:00 shift.
